Spoons League
Announcement: Registration Begin March 1st
Youth Summer Basketball at Witherspoon Park
Spoons League is designed to provide a community based youth basketball program for Erie and its surrounding areas. All children between the ages of 9-16 can experience this fun activity during the summer break which includes all the safeguards of a well organized and managed league. It begins once city school let’s out and last through the month of July.
This league is for everyone: beginners, advanced and anyone in between.
All who register for the league will play. Outside teams are not accepted – with the exception of Erie Housing Authority and the Police Athletic League players. Each player will be evaluated in a Skills Combine and placed on a team during a coaches-only draft session.
Not all coaches provide a practice for their team, still bring you child to his scheduled games. The games days are Monday-Wednesday-Fridays, starting with the youngest division at 5:30 PM. Check the schedule for your team’s start time and location. A program schedule will be available soon.
Players can only participate in ONE program!
If your child is interested in playing in the Spoons League, they can not play in the Westside Bayview League due to games being scheduled around the same time. You would automatically be assigned to the Bayview League if you signed up for both.
How & When to Register
To signup for the Spoons League, a parent or guardian must provide their contact information, the players details, and emergency contact information. Once submitted, the parent will receive a confirmation email. Do not delete this. You can use this to verify your child’s registration later.
Please indicate if your child is participating in a traveling basketball team, football, or a planned vacation this year.
*The League can only accept 80 players per age group in the following divisions (9-10; 11-12; 13-14; 15-16) – Max 320 players.
Become A Coach
Our program relies on volunteer parents to coach our teams! We encourage all parents interested in volunteering to do so during registration.
